A note from the Oasis Food Pantry Founder:

The greater Springfield/Holyoke area has been the home of the Positive Regard Network for the past 25 years.  We love this community and have commited our lives to the students, families and districts we are honored to serve. We respond to community crisis with unconditional positive regard and respect in an immediate and very direct way. We work tirelessly to absorb the stress, worry and trauma imposed on our families and school partners. We would take it all away if we could.

This COVID-19 crisis has presented a new level of worry for our families, our school partners and our community as a whole, but our response is the same - immediate and direct. We have refocused much of the Positive Regard Network resources to our Oasis Food Pantry. We are attacking the issue of hunger in our community with a three tiered approach:

  • Oasis Food Pantry located at 175 Central Street in Springfield and is open Monday through Thursday by appointment only.

  • We are delivering food to hundreds of individuals and families who are shut in due to COVID-19, are elderly or handicapped. These deliveries are Monday - Thursday.

  • Oasis pop-up Food Pantry located at 175 Central street in Springfield and is open on Friday’s from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. We are serving thousands of cars every Friday as families drive through and pick up bags of food containing canned goods, fresh produce, dairy and meat.

As our neighbors come together to care for one another, we will continue to do our part. We are grateful for the support of the City of Springfield and we are honored at the opportunity to do this work for our community. However, it seems that during these times, even unlimited resources would not be enough. We are humbled by any support our community partners can offer to ensure we are able to continue our work during this time. We welcome any and all support including donations via the link above.

We hope you will join in transforming the stress, worry and trauma our families are facing into stability, hope and love.

With sincere appreciation,

John Foley
