Our Strategies
Our decoding strategy incorporates a unique combination of the Lindamood® Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS) to develop kinesthetic awareness of speech sounds and their association with individual letters. Students receive Daily one to one support with the Orton-Gillingham Approach (OG) to reading and spelling, and symbol imagery instruction to enhance rapid reading, spelling, and self-correction. Our Comprehension Strategies Instruction (CSI) targets strategies proven to be effective in fostering comprehension such as mental imagery (Visualizing and Verbalizing®) and explicit vocabulary instruction. Additionally, The Story Grammar Marker® and ThemeMaker® & Research Writer tools facilitate language development at the narrative and informational discourse level to enable students to comprehend, organize, narrate, and write, skills vital to academic and social success.
